Overview

Integrate Fathom with your Feathery forms to automatically assess and visualize flood risk data in real time. Fathom’s advanced flood models empower underwriters with precise, location-specific risk intelligence—helping them evaluate exposures quickly and confidently during the submission process.

What you need

  • An active Feathery account and form
  • A Fathom API subscription or partner access

Background

Fathom is a leading provider of flood hazard data and water risk intelligence. Built on scientific research and proprietary modeling, Fathom offers global coverage with high-resolution flood maps and predictive tools. For insurers and underwriters, Fathom delivers the insights needed to understand flood exposure and make data-informed decisions across residential, commercial, and specialty lines.

By integrating Fathom with Feathery, you can surface flood risk scores and modeling outputs dynamically during form submissions—enhancing risk assessment while streamlining workflows.

Benefits

Integrating Fathom with Feathery allows for:

  • Location-Based Risk Assessment: Pull in Fathom flood risk scores automatically based on an address or coordinates provided during form submission.
  • Stronger Underwriting Decisions: Give your team access to detailed water-related hazard data directly in their workflow, improving accuracy and consistency.
  • Workflow Automation: Route submissions differently based on flood risk tier (e.g., low, moderate, high), reducing time-to-quote and manual reviews.
  • Improved Customer Experience: Provide applicants with transparency around property risk, helping build trust and faster policy decisions.

Considerations

Before integrating Fathom, confirm that your regions of operation align with Fathom’s data coverage. Ensure your forms collect a valid address or geolocation input that can be used to query flood risk models. As Fathom delivers both depth and probability scores, decide how these should influence your triage logic. Involving your underwriting and compliance teams early on is recommended to ensure data usage aligns with regulatory and internal standards.

How to set up

Navigate to the Feathery form you want to connect to Fathom and open the Integrations tab.

Connect your Fathom account using your API key or developer credentials.

Select which flood risk attributes (e.g., risk score, return period depth, flood extent) you want to include.

Configure when the data should be pulled—typically after a location is submitted or verified.

Map your Feathery form fields to the appropriate Fathom outputs, then click Connect to activate the integration.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the

"When inside of" nested selector

system.
